Daylight Savings Time

Daylight Savings getting to you? This great video from WCTV in Tallahassee, Florida is very key in picking yourself back up. I know most of you are dragging even though we got an extra hour this weekend. Below is an overview, then on to the video link below that.

“At the beginning of the week, we rolled the clocks back one hour at 2 a.m. to mark the end of Daylight Saving Time. But what does that mean for your sleep pattern?

It’s actually a good thing. Experts from Tallahassee Memorial Hospital tell Eyewitness News the best time to get your sleeping pattern back on track is in the fall. This is because it gets darker earlier in the day.

“Light is the most important part in our circadian rhythm that ties in with our internal biological clock. So when the lack of light hits, darkness, we produce more melatonin earlier in the daytime so we are able to fall asleep,” says Dr. Pratful Patel.

Tallahassee Memorial Hospital Sleep Center sees about 100 people per week for sleep-related issues.”
